This is the view from Stanton House overlooking the Carrick Roads (on the far left of the picture) which is the river Fal estuary. This river goes from Truro out to the river mouth at Falmouth to the west and St Mawes to the east. The water in the centre is the inlet and boatyard next to the 12th century church of St Just with its sub-tropical garden.
Stanton House is in the picturesque village of St Just in Roseland. St Mawes is 2 miles away and is the most beautiful seaside town in Cornwall with sweeping bays and fantastic views and beaches. The world famous Tresanton Hotel is there and coffee or lunch on its terrace is a memorable occasion.
